Support our Right to Bear Arms! Vote McCain! | 12-October-2008
Elections are a mere 3 weeks away! Don't forget to go to the polls and vote! Barack Obama has spent millions to try to cheat his way into the presidency. From the hundreds of thousands of dollars in support he paid to the fraudulent voter registration foundation ACORN, to "bussing" people not normally registered to vote to voter registration drives where they are influenced to register and vote for Obama. No doubt if the race is close they will try to block military absentee ballots like they did in Florida in 2000. So we have to make sure the race isn't close enough for these dirty tricks to succeed! Remember, Obama is a supporter of Clinton's Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007 which classified certain "scary looking" rifles as "assault weapons" and made them illegal to manufacture. Obama wants to make firearms laws, such as those found in California, federal laws so that every state would have to comply to such ridiculous laws. If you want to keep our freedom, our RIGHT, to bear arms, please don't sit this election out. This could be the most important election we'll ever vote for. Don't forget the type of people Obama associates himself with. If you don't want to wait in the long lines of election day, do early voting. Lines are generally short in early voting stations, especially during the week if you can make it. That way you can get your vote in without inconveniencing yourselves. But at whatever cost, make sure you vote! Long live the second amendment!


Winchester .22LR Ammunition Recall | 19-September-2007

If you purchased Winchester .22LR Super-X High Velocity (Symbol X22LR) or Power-Point (Symbol X22LRPP) Lot numbers containing letters: XN, YA, YB, or YC, there is a recall notice you should know about.

It is determined that the above lots of Super-X High Velocity (X22LR) and Power-Point (X22LRPP) .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition may contain double powder charges. Double powder charge weight may cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable, and subject the shooter to a risk of personal injury and/or death when fired.

If you have this type of ammunition with lot numbers containing these letters (XN, YA, YB, or YC), DO NOT use this ammunition in your firearm. The ammunition Lot Number is imprinted (stamped without ink) on the outside of the right tuck flap of the 50-round box as indicated here:

To determine if your ammunition is subject to this notice, review the Lot Number. If the Lot Number contains the letters XN, YA, YB or YC return the ammunition to Winchester via United Parcel Service (UPS). Securely pack the ammunition into a corrugated cardboard box, write “CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS ORM-D” on the outside, and ship to:

Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law | 07-September-2007

This actually happened back in 01-October-2005, but since that was before the creation of this website, I'll just post it now. I feel it is really important for every gun own to know about this law change since this gives you much more rights as a gun owner to defend yourself without fear of prosecution.

Prior to this law, Florida was known as a "must flee" state. Which basically says that if you are encountered with violent attacker, even if you have a CCW license and are armed, you are required to try to "flee" first and the use of self defense will have to be the absolute last resort, as in you are backed against a corner and cannot run. Of course, this is the brainchild of democrats who want to keep as many criminals alive as possible at the expense of law-abiding citizens since, well at least I can't, we can't possibly run faster than a speeding bullet, so trying to "flee" from an armed attacker is pretty much suicide. During this time, if you ever use your firearm to defend yourself, or any other weapon for that matter, you will be put under the scrutiny of the court to determine if you had any other option, such as running away from the armed attacker, before you chose to use force to defend yourself.

I personally thought that was simply ridiculous, but I guess the democrat's response to that would be: "remember to run in a zig zag pattern so it's harder for them to hit you." Yah, thanks...

This new "Stand Your Ground (pdf)" law enacted during Jeb Bush's term states several things:

  • Law abiding citizens and visitors can legally presume the threat of great bodily harm and/or death from anyone who breaks into your occupied residence or occupied motor vehicle and you are justified to use defensive force including deadly force to defend yourself from said intruder(s).
  • In any place in which a person "has a right to be," that person is no longer required to retreat if attacked and may "meet force with force including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.”
  • In either case, the person using force for self defense is immune to arrest, prosecution, or civil action if those actions are found to be permitted by law.
  • If civil action is brought to a person who was found to be immune to such action based on the parameters set by this law, the defendant will be awarded all costs of defense.
Many gun control advocates tried to misrepresent this law to the unknowing public by representing it as some kind of cowboy "shoot first ask questions later" law and even threatened our tourism revenue by "warning" tourists not to anger "locals" since this new law apparently allows them to just shoot anyone for no reason. I find this ludicrous because these people live in this state too, and they are willing to risk our tourism revenue, which is a huge help to the state, just to try to further their political agenda. I mean, the levels people stoop to now-a-days, amazes me...
